Moving SSRPM

Moving SSRPM

Postby SWadmin » Thu Jun 17, 2010 10:10 am

We are upgrading our hardware and considering moving SSRPM from our DC to a member server. Are there any disadvantages to this approach?

Hello SWadmin,

The only concern I would have is if you are running the SSRPM web interface. I like to make sure that IIS and the service reside on the same machine. Otherwise, it will run just fine on a member server. Many of our SSRPM users choose to run the service on a utility or file server.

Thanks for your help here. One other question though, currently we have been using SSRPM client for our internal users but have been considering an option for our users who work from home and are accessing resources through our portal rather than logging into the network. Does the SSRPM web allow us to make this service available to our remote users through the internet?

Hello,

Absolutely, SSRPM web can be used within an internal web portal or on the public internet. This option will work great for your remote users. Contact us if you need any help setting this up.

Thanks,
